Who Can Participate?

Students in grades 3- 5 are allowed and encouraged to explore one or more musical activities in both an instrumental and choral setting These performance groups require commitment to the before school rehearsal schedule, development of consistent practice habits and agreement to abide by the rules that guarantee fairness and promote excellence.

 

When does the program start?

Specific dates will be mentioned on welcome letters sent home by their music teacher.

 

Can I rent a school instrument?

Yes, however school rentals are reserved for continuing grade 4 and grade 5 students only.*Grade 3 violin students must rent from a local music store.

 

How much is the rental fee?

The rental fee is $50.00 for the school year and FREE for the summer. If your child plays two instruments, the fee will only be $50.00 for both instruments.

 

Where do I drop my child off for before school rehearsals?

Please drop them off by the nurse entrance on the side of the school building. There will be a monitor there to receive the children.

 

Where does my child go after rehearsal if it’s still before school?

After rehearsal most students are either involved in small lesson groups for their instruments or some other musical activity. Otherwise, they walk quietly to a monitor in the hallway to sit and read a book until their classrooms are opened for arrival.
